Sunscreen application is a must to maintain the beauty and youthful appearance for long plus for protecting your skin from harmful sunrays that can bring about several skin issues including premature ageing and even skin cancer.
The sunscreen you use should contain Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide and Avobenzone or at least any one of three ingredients. These three elements effectively block the UVA rays rather than only UVB.
The best way to get a sunscreen that meet all of your coverage needs and can protect you every sort of harmful rays is to prepare your own sunscreen. The recipe to prepare sunscreen at home is given here;
Ingredients
2 tbsp. Coconut oil or olive oil
1 tbsp. Shea Butter or beeswax
1/2 tsp. Jojoba Oil (optional)
1/2 tsp. Aloe Vera Gel
2 tsp. Titanium Dioxide/zinc oxide
Directions
You need to be very careful while working with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide because these two ingredients are highly toxic and harmful. You shouldn’t forget wearing gloves and mask before starting with the procedure as none of these ingredients should be inhaled. After wearing mask and gloves, place a small pan on stove-top.
Spill out the oils and butter/wax in the pan and stir them well with a disposable spoon until the butter/wax transforms into oil. After mixing these two components sparingly, take 1-2 tbsp. zinc oxide or titanium dioxide powder in the pan and stir well.
Then collect the resultant mixture in a ceramic or glass bowl and let it cool to normal room temperature. The mixture may grow out to be runny after the addition of TD but it will set up during the night.
Preservation
Preserve the sunscreen in an air-tight container. As the sunscreen contains harmful chemicals, don’t keep it along or nearby the cooking items and also avoid using that pan and bowl for cooking in which you have prepared the sunscreen.
Stock it in the fridge during hot weather months if your home is warm because the coconut oil turns into liquid at higher temperature.
Properties
Though the sunscreen contains different oils but it isn’t oily as the aloe Vera gel assists the oils sop up into your skin. Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide serve to physically block the UVA and UVB rays.
